The problem
Although there has been significant progress, women in the sneaker industry are often not given the same shine, respect, and opportunities to share their stories, which impacts the industry today, and representation for the next generation.︎
Our solution
Incorp[HER]ated partnered with The Wing to host Sole Chat, an evening celebrating women and their impact in the sneaker and streetwear industry. Moderated by Power 105.1 DJ Nyla Billups, the evening was filled with fruitful conversations and endless wisdom from both the panelists and attendees.
On the panel were some of the industry's trailblazers and rule-breakers, including Sammy Jo Alonso from FRUITION Las Vegas, Onto NYC founder Jilleen Liao, design consultant Erin Mintun, and Joy Yoon, former Senior Studio Manager at adidas Brooklyn Creator Farm.

The impact
Each of the four panelists dove into how they got their start in the industry, as well as their thoughts on its current state, ranging from topics like cultural appropriation, authenticity, and family influences - concluding with genuine exchanges between the panelists and guests, and an atmosphere of community and network-building.
