THE PROBLEM:

Black-owned businesses were disproportionately impacted by COVID-19’s economic implications and faced barriers accessing support and information on economic relief programs.

OUR SOLUTION:

We created a publicly available guide to understanding and navigating Payment Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) for small businesses and partnered with Imani Moise, Financial Times US Banking Correspondent, and Kamila McDonnough, President of GRID 202 Partners, to host a conversation explaining both application processes and answer questions for those seeking support.

THE IMPACT:

Over 40 attendees participated in the event and left feeling like they were put in a better position to take advantage of federal funding to support businesses impacted by COVID and were able to share information throughout their individual networks.
